Molyneux? Moly-YES!

Our awesome friends, Haley and Braden Molyneux moved to Canada last summer. They have since repented of their ways (just kidding...Canada is great I'm sure) and have returned to the states. On their way to Denver, they stopped for a visit in Utah. They gathered some of their friends and family together for a BBQ one Sunday evening. It was so fun to see them again and see each other's children and how big they have gotten.

The ladies started out with some girl talk...which wasn't hard considering three out of four of us were pregnant. (Braden and Haley's friend, Amy; me; and Jess.)

The boys of course gathered and did their geek talk which I'm sure centered around computers and video games.

David was awesome with the kids. I know he'll make a great Dad.

And here are some other great dads in action:

But I have to admit, one of the best parts of our evening was seeing Owen and Sophia together. Apparently, Sophia would often talk about "baby Owen" when they were living in Canada. So sweet. Haley had to inform her that Owen wasn't quite a baby anymore. Sophia was Owen's very first "betrothed." We're hopeful things will work out down the road....

Sophia told Haley that Owen was singing too loud:

Owen presenting me with the flower he yanked out of the dirt from their yard. How could I be mad???

Aren't they so cute together? Although, I think Owen was struggling with his feelings. At one point he gave Sophia a little shove, pointed ahead of him and said, "GO!" I couldn't help but laugh thinking of young love and how little boys push a girl to show they like her. We'll make sure and teach him to treat girls better than that....

Sophia rebounded quickly though and wasn't afraid to hold hands. So sweet.

Anyway, it was a fun evening with beautiful weather for an outside BBQ. It was so great to see our friends - both the Molyneuxs and the Garbett/Salmon family, as well as meet some new people. I sure wish we all lived closer so we could have nights like this all the time.

Isn't Sophia a bit older than Owen?

But of course Owen will know all about dating "older" women from his dad, huh?
